COURSE OVERVIEW

Massage is an important element in the program to keep today’s performance horses in top form, comfortable and healthy and able to compete at top levels. Students will learn the basics of the horse's skeletal & muscle structure and how it works. Learn what ligaments, tendons and muscles do and how they control the motion of the horse. Learn to identity problems, including stress points, strains and their source. Learn therapies for muscle problems and how to be safe while working with horses. A qualified massage therapist can typically start at $30 a horse. If you choose to continue up the certification ladder -- Certified Equine Flexion Therapist, Journeyman, and finally Master EFT -- your fees should increase as you gain education and experience.
